Opti-Tekscope 12mm Microscope (OT-HD, OT-V1, OT-FLEX) Software Instructions
For Windows Users (Windows 10 and Above):
Connect your Opti-Tekscope USB Microscope to a USB port. Open the Camera app by pressing the Windows key, typing "Camera," and selecting the app. If you have multiple cameras, switch to the USB Microscope using the camera switch icon until the microscope feed appears. Adjust settings such as brightness and contrast within the app for optimal viewing. The Camera app is pre-installed, making it the easiest option for Windows 10, Windows 11, and future versions.
For Mac Users:
Connect your microscope to a USB port. Open Photo Booth by clicking on the Finder icon, navigating to Applications, and selecting Photo Booth. If multiple cameras are available, switch to the USB Microscope via the Camera menu. Alternatively, you can use Digital Viewer by downloading and installing the software. Open Digital Viewer and select your USB Microscope from the list of available cameras.
For Windows Systems Below Windows 10:
Download Amcap using the provided link. Install and open the software, connect your microscope to a USB port, and select your microscope from the Devices menu in Amcap. Amcap can also be used as an alternative to the Camera app if another option is needed. [Download Amcap for Windows Below 10]
For Linux Users (Ubuntu):
Open the Terminal and install Cheese by typing sudo apt-get install cheese. Once installed, open Cheese by typing "cheese" in the Terminal or finding it in the application menu. Connect your microscope to a USB port, and Cheese should automatically detect it. If there are multiple cameras, switch between them in Cheese.
